Taking a drive down memory lane is a great way to remember where you’ve been and where you are going. National Car Rental loyalty program has a lot of memories since it’s founding 25 years ago. To celebrate their anniversary, they are have given us two $25 Visa cards and a “Go Like A Pro” gift basket to give away.

The Emerald Club, National Car Rental’s loyalty program is also running a Facebook promotion to give away additional prizes by sharing videos, photo’s or text’s of your memory from 25 years ago.

  1. 25 years ago I was 8 years old and visiting Mount Rushmore and Glacier National Park with my parents. Nice memories, those ones. Hope to take my kids someday.

  2. 25 years ago I was 6 years old, I will never forget we moved to Chicago from Florida that January and I got to see snow for the first time.

  3. I was 3 years old, too young to remember anything. However, I do remember the first time I came to US. It was a late afternoon in DCA, nice people, fresh air and blue sky.

  4. 25 years ago I took my first trip from the East Coast to California to attend a friend’s wedding. I rented a car afterwards and drove down the PCH.

  5. 25 years ago I was 12 years old riding with my grandmother from Georgia to South Carolina to visit my cousins.

  6. I wasn’t around 25 years ago so my first travel memory is flying down to Orlando on Spirit with my family to visit Disney World

  7. 25 years ago I had just arrived in Germany as a young soldier, and was making plans for the conquest of Europe. I managed to explore much of Germany, along with parts of Switzerland, Austria, Italy, and Spain in the two years I was there.

  8. I was not born yet, but the first vacation I remember was in St.Thomas US Virgin Islands. I loved the parrots at the hotel.

  9. 25 years ago, I was traveling to elementary school. But my first travel memory (and possibly first memory ever) was eating cookies on my very first flight (to Vermont) as a 2-year old.

  11. I was only 2 years old 25 years ago 🙂 my first travel memory is when i was 6 years old and my family took Lufthansa to move to the united states from india.

  12. 25 years ago, I was 4. I already had 5 trips from Tennessee to visit family in California.

  13. 25 Years ago travelled by loaded miniVan to Outer Banks with our 4 kids. All under 4. Wow. It was fun. But messy.

  14. 25 years ago, the bulk of my traveling was by car all around southern CA. Didn’t get the opportunity to fly much until I headed off to college!

  15. 25 years ago I was traveling with my parents from LAX to Seoul Gimpo on a Korean Airlines flight on our way to see relatives in the Philippines. I don’t quite remember much, except I felt like a piece of duty-free merchandise as my parents passed me around the plane showing me off..both to the flight attendants and fellow passengers!

  16. 25 years ago I went on my first international flight. Its amazing how much international flights have changed since then!

  17. About 25 years ago my husband and I flew with our twin daughters, who were just infants, to Mexico City, Mexico on Pan Am. I remember we were fortunate to have all the seats in the middle row to spread out. We had lots of fun on that trip!

  20. Almost that old! I grew up in Penang, Malaysia since I was about 4. First memories of traveling were going to Pulau Langkawi and Pulau Pangkor with my family!

  26. 25 years ago I was traveling in the back seat (although I guess I still do in coach) of my parents’ car to visit my grandparents.

  27. First travel memories would be sleeping on the floor at the bulkhead of an Aer Lingus 747 bound for Shannon, Ireland. Also, going up into the cockpit was the coolest thing a 4 year old plane junkie could ever do!

  28. 1987? I was in jr high. That summer, my sister and I flew from ATL to Baltimore to visit our cousins. Visited the acquarium, some tall ship moored in Chesapeake Bay, and ate about a ton of steamed blue crabs! Our uncle from Denver also came out and then drove all of us up to NYC in his 1977 Town Car to visit our other uncle, who was a grad student at Columbia. We spent a few days in the city, visiting MOMA, the MMA, the Statue of Liberty (long climb up!), barely eating half a sandwich from Carnegie Deli, and hanging out in Central Park. Good times.

  29. my first travel memory was going to my grandparent’s house on a 13 hour road trip!

  30. 27 years old and burned out by an 80 hr work week, a buddy and I borrowed his parents VW bus and headed to Colorado. Got to Vail found a job parking cars that gave us a ski pass, lived on happy hour food and kind strangers and slept in the van at various dead end roads. A great 2 months!

  32. 25 years ago I was still a minor and was flying back and forth between Seattle and Eugene on Horizon Air. At that time all but one daily flight was operated by Metro III 18-seaters, with one daily flight on a 37-seat Dash 8. I always figured out a way to work myself onto that Dash 8 flight, as it had actual in-flight service, and even a snack in those days.

  33. Just about 25 years ago I went on my first solo plane trip from NY to Cleveland to see my grandparents. I was only 5 and thought I was just the coolest!
