Delta flight 3163 from Detroit to Chicago Midway was quarantined on Friday due to a Mokeypox scare.

Lise Sievers, 50, was on her way back from visiting Uganda when she noticed small red bumps on her body. She had just returned from a trip to Uganda where she recalled a small child had pus-filled bumps so the bumps on her own body must have prompted the reaction. She then called her mother in Minneapolis and mentioned what she was seeing. The mother ended up calling the local hospital and asked about how to treat pus-filled bumps but also mentioned something about Uganda.

The next thing Lise saw was her flight being greeted with fire trucks once it touched down at Midway.

Once health care members boarded the plane they determined bed bug bites were the cause. Resulting tests from a local hospital have determined that more serious problems were not present.

You can read more detail about the incident from the Chicago Tribune.
