Southwest Double Points Starts Today – 60% Rebate

Southwest has announced their fall Double Points Promotion today. From now through November 15, 2012 you can earn double points on all Southwest flights weather you are flying from east to west, west to east, north to south or from the south “UP” north.

How To Get Double Points 

  • Register for the promotion at Southwest between September 13, 2012 and November 15, 2012.
  • Step 2:  Book a Southwest flight for yourself between September 13, 2012 and November 15, 2012.
  • Step 3:  Complete your travel between September 13, 2012 and November 15, 2012.

Double Points Promotion Details

Let’s use an example to illustrate the value of this promotion. If you have top status with Southwest, you’ll earn 12x points for a business select fare. This is 12x double points promo, 12x for A-List preferred (100% of base), so 36x SW points per dollar spent on a Business Select Fare.
For a $100 business select fare, the rebate will be $60 dollars worth in Southwest points.
  • So for spending $100, you”ll get $60 back
  • 1 SW point = 1.6 cents in Wanna Get Away Fares
  • $100 Fare X 36 points per dollar / 60 = $60
Terms And Conditions
Terms and Conditions:  Member must register for this promotion between September 13, 2012 and November 15, 2012, and registration must be completed prior to commencement of travel.  Valid on new reservations only.  Member must book between September 13, 2012 and November 15, 2012.  Travel must be completed between September 13, 2012 and November 15, 2012 on Southwest published, scheduled service.  Rapid Rewards account number must be entered at the time of booking.  Rapid Rewards earned points are calculated using base fare and excise tax.  Member will receive 12 bonus points per dollar spent on Business Select Fares, ten bonus points per dollar spent on Anytime Fares, and six bonus points per dollar spent on Wanna Get Away? Fares.  Bonus points are in addition to the standard flight points earned through Rapid Rewards.  Bonus points will not count toward A-List and A-List Preferred qualification.  Bonus points will not count toward Companion Pass qualification.  Member will receive bonus Rapid Rewards Points within four days of completion of entire ticket.  Award, Companion Pass, Southwest Vacation Packages, Jackpot Deals, and reward travel do not qualify for promotion.  Valid on Southwest Airlines published, scheduled service.  Changes made to the itinerary after purchase may eliminate qualification for promotion.  All Rapid Rewards rules and regulations apply.

Bottom Line
