Spa Savings with Mrs. Weekly Flyer – Bliss Free $50 Gift Card

Today is the last day for a pretty good offer from Bliss (ends 11/14/12 at 11:59 pm EDT.) We go to the spa a couple times a year and always on our trips. We are big fans of the Bliss spas at Starwood hotels.

Mr. Weekly Flyer is still looking to hit the spend threshold on his new Ink Plus® Business Card before the end of the year.

Basically, I am trying to spend the threshold to receive the 50,000 bonus (new offer page for the Ink Plus® Business Card shows an updated spending threshold has been reduced to only $5,000) by spending on items that we would buy anyway. That way, we aren’t blowing the budget to get the 50,000 bonus points.

The Deal

  • I went through the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal which is offering 4 points/dollar at Bliss.com and does not exclude the purchase of gift cards like some stores do.
  • Bliss is offering a bonus $50 gift card when you buy a $200 Bliss gift card. This is a bonus of 25%!
  • The $50 bonus gift card expires June 30, 2013, so you have plenty of time to use it.
  • The gift cards ship for free.

Bottom Line

You get 25% bonus on gift cards and earn 800 extra points for buying through Chase Ultimate Rewards. You can spend the gift cards on products or services and it helps get you to your spend threshold for new credit card.

I value Chase points at $0.02 a piece so, the 800 points = $16.00. Plus the $50 bonus means you get $66.00 in value when you buy a $200 Bliss gift card, which is 33%!

Do you see any other ways to maximize this discount? Happy Shopping!

If you were considering the Ink Plus® Business Card for the 50,000 Chase Ultimate Reward bonus, it just got a little easier to achieve. The spending requirement on the new offer has been lowered to $5,000.  After hitting that spending threshold, you’ll receive 50,000 Chase Ultimate Reward points that can be transferred to airlines like United to redeem Business Class on Swiss, Korean Air to redeem miles for Business Class to Tahiti or on Korean Air in their great Business Class product, or to great hotels like Hyatt or Marriott.
