After a six hour flight in Singapore Air’s regional Business Class, I had several hours relax before the long Korean Air flight back to the states. But first, I would have to change terminals, receive my Korean Air boarding pass by going to the transfer desk and find a Korean Air Prestige class lounge to relax.

Airport And Transfer Desk

I deplaned my Singapore Air 777 plane that brought me from Singapore and headed for the Korean Air terminal. This would require a quick train ride, a trip up an escalator and a pass through security. All in, about 10-15 minutes to transfer between the terminals.

Gangnam Style mania was in full effect during transfer through Seoul.

The transfer desks are clearly marked. If you have to make a transfer in Seoul, make sure you go to the airline you are transferring too, not from.

The SkyPriority lane was completely empty, as was the regular line. After about 5 minutes, I had my Korean Air boarding pass in hand and was off to find a lounge.

Korean Air Prestige Lounge

There are several Korean Air Prestige lounges in Seoul. I picked the one near my gate so I could maximize my time in the lounge.

The lounge has a great open air feel with floor to ceiling windows for your viewing pleasure.

KE Lounge 1

I really liked the private feel of the seat dividers.

KE Lounge 2

All of the small table settings near the window were taken, but there was a long desk that had plenty of open seating.

KE Lounge 3

I decided to post up in one of the private areas that had a great view of the tarmac.

Since I had a few hours, I decided to freshen up in one of the showers. I requested a shower at the front desk during check in to the lounge, but they were taken. So I was given a buzzer (#12) that would go off when a shower room was ready.

I was called after about 15 minutes and was directed to my shower. They are located near the front entrance of the lounge in the opposite direction of the seating area.

After a quick refresher, I decided to check out the lounge refreshments. I was left uninspired.

KE Lounge Drinks

The food options were set up along a small buffet. There were several cold items that looked like they’d been out for a while.

The one hot item was potatoes with ketchup. I passed on both food and beverage and headed back to my seat to catch up on some things before the long flight back.

On the way back to my seat I noticed Korean Air’s guide books. I grabbed a few souvenirs including Paris, Seoul and Sao Paulo.

I noticed an entire new seating area upon my return. This side had much more seating but was less private.

Korean Air Boarding

I left the lounge about 40 minutes prior to boarding. On the way, I caught a glimpse of the Korean Air A380 that will expand service to New York, Los Angeles routes as well as operate on the Atlanta flight later this year.

The boarding process was called and the Korean Air had a very orderly boarding process.

The process started with people needing more assistance including families traveling with small children.

Before long, the Business Class was boarding and I went down the long jetway to the plane.

Bottom Line

While I didn’t get to hit up the golf course, casino, spa or other activities at the airport, I enjoyed my brief stop in Seoul’s Incheon International airport.

I entered the plane and settled into my seat in the forward, and more private Prestige Class cabin for the 13+ hour flight back to the states.

  1. I’m glad you enjoyed the Incheon Airport, located outside of Seoul, and my current home base airport. The shopping opportunities are quite lovely, aren’t they? Some of the flights require an underground train ride, located in the airport after customs, to get to one’s gate. Happy travels.

  2. I haven’t been to many airports in Asia but ICN is definitely one of my favorites. My only complaint is the food offerings in the lounge. Sometimes the OZ Biz lounge has 2-3 hot food choices..

  3. I was at the OZ first class lounge at ICN about 10 days ago and I was not impressed by the lounge.

  4. Hi BillyBob – Pics were from 2012.

Hi Carl – I wasn’t impressed either. Best thing in the lounge was noodles.

Hi Jimmy – I agree and really wished I could have at least hit up the golf driving range, not often that you get a chance to do that at an airport.

    Hi Mary – Thanks.

  5. I’d must verify with you here. Which isn’t one thing I often do! I get pleasure from reading a submit that may make folks think. Additionally, thanks for allowing me to comment!
