Southwest has a tendency to leak their new promotions into user’s accounts a few days before they are actually announced.  Today I noticed a new bonus targeting business travelers who use corporate bookings through swabiz.com.  This morning the details were blank but it appears they have been uploaded some time this evening.   Essentially for the next two months, the bonus is double points on Business Select and Anytime Fares.  The cheapest Wanna Get Away Fares yield a 25% bonus.

The details of the offer read as follows.

Earn Rapid Rewards Bonus Points through February 28, 2013!

You will receive 24 points (instead of the standard 12 points) per dollar spent on Business Select® Fares, 20 points (instead of ten points) per dollar spent on Anytime Fares, and 7.5 points (instead of six points) per dollar spent on Wanna Get Away?® Fares.

To take advantage of this offer, simply follow these steps:

Step 1:  Register for this promotion between January 3, 2013 and February 28, 2013.

Step 2:  Book a Southwest® flight for yourself through your corporate booking tool for travel between January 3, 2013 and February 28, 2013.

Step 3:  Complete your business travel between January 3, 2013 and February 28, 2013.

Only the Rapid Rewards Member who received this e-mail/offer from Southwest Airlines® is eligible for this promotion.

The bottom line

For a business traveler who chooses Southwest as their primary domestic carrier and uses swabiz this is a very welcome promotion. I almost never book anything but Wanna Get Away Fares so the bonus is of limited value to me but anyone needing a last minute ticket can gather a whole lot of Southwest points quickly at 24 points per dollar. An A-List Preferred member using this bonus on a Business Select ticket would earn 36 points per dollar.  An A-List Preferred member with a Companion Pass using this bonus on a Business Select ticket would effectively earn double that……OK you get the idea.  Take a look in your account now to see if you are targeted to register.  The registration technically starts tomorrow but I was able to register today.

  1. So I need company ID to take advantage of this promotion? Is there a way for me to get a company ID?

  2. I don’t see where I can register for the double points for the SWA Biz flights. Can you send me a link or screen shot?
