Delta’s First Class Omelette

Sometimes riding in First Class is all about the free drinks. But for this early morning flight, it was all about the breakfast. Delta’s domestic First Class omelette is first class in every way.

On my way back from the west coast on an early morning Delta flight in First Class, Delta offered me a choice of cereal or an omelette. I chose the omelette, but this was not the ordinary omelette. It came with raspberry and sausage vs the standard ham and pineapple. This omelette didn’t have the usual peppers either, instead it had a pimento cheese like filling, but I can’t confirm exactly what it was. Of course the croissant was warm and delicious.

It is funny how just a few tweaks from the exact same meal on the outbound can totally change the outlook on the meal. Take a closer look, it was delicious for an early morning meal after a long weekend.

The biggest surprise was the raspberries. Sometimes it is the little things that make a big difference.

  1. I had a pizza on the way back from Germany in BE that was amazing! And Delta’s croissants couldn’t get any better.

  2. Not really a “little detail”, but flying Delta Economy Comfort vs another carrier makes a big difference. Plenty of Woodford Reserve offered frequently.

My last trip to Moscow on Delta outbound was missed due to a delayed connection, so go rebooked on Aeroflot. Nice plane (new 777-300ER), but in flight economy service was definitely lacking. The return on Delta was enjoyable, I think I consumed most of their Woodford on that flight.

  3. I just had this, this AM but mine came with Canadian Bacon over the sausage. I also had a bagel after croissant. Would have love to have seen mushrooms over green peppers but nice way to wake up transcon!

  4. What omelette in FC? I fly regularly red-eye LAS-JFK, very often in FC and never got any omelette (or meal, in general, for that matter)!

  5. it sure beats UA’s pathetic hockey puck egg “breakfast.” I had this omelette when I last flew in DL F almost two years ago, and I was quite happy with the quality of the dish and quantity.

As for AA their breakfasts are decent, but UA’s are just disgusting in terms of both taste and portion.

  6. I had a Delta FC omelette this morning and it looked nothing like yours and was awful. LGA-DEN. I should have gotten the cereal.
