Guest post from the folks at Free in Freedom. Lady Tocqueville who is on a Trip of a Million Lifetimes around the world with Mr. Tocqueville shares her happy hour in Cuzco with a Pisco Sour!

As Tocqueville documented, there are a few drinks we’d like to try during our Trip of a Million Lifetimes. The first on the list is the Pisco Sour, hailing from Peru and Chile. We stopped by the Museo del Pisco to give one a try. The Museo is in the Cuzco historical district, next door to the JW Marriott Cuzco near the Inka sacred valley.

For 43 Peruvian Soles ($15.40USD) we enjoyed a Pisco Sour for me, and a Pisco Apple Basil cocktail for Tocqueville. True to its name, the drink does taste sour, almost like a margarita without the sweet component to.

In Peru, instead of popcorn or mixed nuts as bar snacks, they use deliciously seasoned massive popcorn kernels. They were delicious paired up with the Pisco. Salud!
