Starbucks offers a great product. I usually pick up a black coffee in the morning. If I pick one up in the afternoon I make it a double espresso. Whatever your choice is, don’t forget that you can earn 5x points per perk at Starbucks by using a card like the Ink Plus® Business Card to reload your Starbucks card.

Pick Up 5x Points Per Perk

Step 1: Purchase A Starbucks Gift Card At Your Local Office Supply Store

Purchase a Starbucks gift card at your local office supply store. Be sure to use a card that offers 5x points on purchases so you can maximize your potential point earnings. I use the Chase Ink Plus® Business Card, but the Ink Bold® Business Card or Ink Cash® Business Card should also work.

Step 2: Sign-up for a My Starbucks Rewards Account At Starbucks

This step is optional. You can just take your new gift card to the nearest Starbucks, or you can load it to your My Starbucks Rewards gift card if you’ve already purchased one. That way, you can keep using the same card by just repeating step 1 and the following steps to re-load your card while earning 5x points per perk.

Step 3: Select The Reload Your Card Option

Once you log-in, navigate to the Card>Reload Your Card section. Simply select the “reload your card” option.

Step 4: Select Transfer Funds And The Transfer To Option

Next, you’ll want to select the “transfer funds” option. This will allow you to add funds to an existing gift card, using a new gift card.

Step 5: Enter Your Details To Transfer Money To Your Card

Simply enter the card number and security code number on the back of your new gift card and your gift card balance will be added. How easy is that, right?

Step 6: Enjoy Your Perk

Enjoy your coffee pick-me-up and your padded points program balance.

Bottom Line

Remember to perk up your points balance by using this method with a 5x earning card like the Ink Plus® Business Card, the next time you grab a cup of coffee in the morning.

  1. I buy Starbucks gift cards online at 12 – 18% off. Not lucrative from a points earning, as it’s only 1 point per dollar, but much better from a cost savings perspective. I definitely do the rewards program – totally worthwhile!
