Uber expected pricing for New Year’s Eve:

uber_nye_besttimestoride_blog_white2

This New Year’s Eve Uber will have a record number of cars on the road ready to get you where you want to go. But, that doesn’t change one simple fact: on NYE, everyone wants to move around the city at exactly the same time! Uber will be charging Surge Pricing tonight which can be more than 3X normal fares.

So as you can see Uber will have normal pricing up until 8pm, so if you can get to your party before 8pm there will not be surge pricing. From 8-10pm, this will be a busy time as people start heading out. However from 10:30pm-12:15am, the prices should be back to normal because most people will be at their destinations, so if you plan on party hopping this would be a good time.

From 12:15am-3am, this is when pricing is suppose to be the most expensive, since there is expected to be a much greater demand then supply of Uber cars, so if you plan on heading home during this time, expect to pay Uber surge pricing. After 3am however, prices should be back to normal. You can view a video from Uber’s CEO on their blog about their New Year’s Eve pricing. Lyft

Hello_2014

Lyft expects tonight to be the busiest night in Lyft history. Drivers are stocking up on party hats and playlists to give you a great time. Give your driver an extra-large fistbump to say thanks for being there for you on this holiday night!

They’re staying open until 4am so you can catch a ride home late, and Lyft prices will stay at everyday levels through the holiday. Enjoy!

And when they say all hands on deck, we mean it! Their our co-founder John Zimmer will be out driving with Lyft on NYE. 🙂

Bottom Line

Tonight will be a busy night out there, and the most important part is to get home safely. Uber will be charging surge pricing tonight so keep that in mind whereas Lyft will not be charging any extra.

You can download Uber or the Lyft App, so you can be prepared for tonight.
