Most Hidden Delta Sky Club And New Renovations To Terminal D At Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport

This well kept secret of a Sky Club is a spacious retreat from the claustrophobic halls of Atlanta’s Terminal D concourse. The Sky Club is new and you can likely find good seating since it isn’t well known. The concourse itself is going through renovations and they are coming along well as you can see in the pictures below.

Terminal Renovations

The renovations in Terminal D have the goals of improving passenger flow, add restaurant options and enhance retail options in the concourse mall.

Immediately upon entering the concourse I noticed a striking difference with the high ceilings.

The area around the food court appears more open and easier to navigate. The juncture where the escalators met the food court used to be one of the most congested places in the airport. But with the enhancements I find it easier to navigate.

Sky Club At D 27

This Sky Club is relatively hidden. I had to pull up my web browser to recall which gate it was located at. You can find it near D 27 and across from the Delta service desk.

The entrance is on the main level but the lounge is on the lower level. So instead of heading up to the lounge, you have the option of taking the stairs or the elevator down.

The lounge bar is new and well stocked. But expect the same well drinks and domestic beer options on the complimentary menu with a better stocked Luxury Bar menu.

There are many seating options including my favorite red chairs.

Bottom Line

The renovations in Terminal D appear to be coming along well. The new open feeling is a welcome addition to the otherwise cramped feeling I used to get when visiting the D terminal. The Sky Club at D 27 is among my favorite Sky Clubs due to the relative seclusion. It isn’t well advertised and as a result you can usually find a few seats in a quiet place to wait for your flight.

You can gain access to Delta Sky Clubs through a number of ways. I personally have access through my Platinum Card® from American Express. But you can also access the Sky Clubs with day passes or achieving Delta Diamond Medallion Elite status.

Have you visited the Sky Club at D 27? What did you think?

  1. I was in this sky club on the 28th and again on the 2nd (yesterday). The other ones I have visited include LAX, MSP, SLC and HNL – this one is the smallest (next to HNL) but it is well lit and the staff seem to be helpful, although not as nice as SLC and MSP. BTW, thanks for your recommendation of the Reserve card, that is how we were able to visit!

  2. Certainly one of the smaller clubs (but not as small as the PHL one, for example, and the smaller of the two at ATL B concourse is close). This one can get pretty full during more peak times — I’ve been in it with scarcely a seat available. Also, beware that it closes earlier (10pm I think) than the clubs at other concourses.
