  1. I don’t mean to sound ignorant, but what do you mean when you say “spouse stays free”? The free night certificates require some spend, correct?

Best perk of gold status – breakfast at doubletrees. Much nicer than the average continental breakfast and many doubletrees let you take from the entire breakfast buffet.

  2. Yes, for the most part that is a useless benefit, but let’s say you booked a room for just one person and then your spouse comes along and you get free breakfast, they would also get the free breakfast benefit.

  3. I coudn’t find the free breakfast benefit on Hilton website? Where did you find this statement for the card?

Also, if i don’t live in US, do i still able to subscribe the credit card ? It is only for US resident?

    Thanks.

  4. My favorite benefit? It depends 😉
It’s either the ability to choose between property specific benefits (points vs breakfast for example) or the chance for an upgrade at Hilton, DoubleTree, etc.

One other thing: I see you have included an image of the gold card’s front. Does that mean you got sent such a card? I haven’t received any gold welcome kit (or simply the card) the last two years. And I guess I won’t receive anything this year.
HHonors is the only program where I have some kind of elite status and don’t get anything physical.

  5. I enjoy getting the 1,000 HHonors Bonus Points per stay. The points add up quickly. I always opt to earn points rather than get the free breakfast. The bottles of water is a nice perk. I was just at the Hilton Garden Inn San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge last weekend, and they give Gold members as much water as you want. You can keep getting more throughout your stay. That’s a great perk, because I drink lots of water.
