Air France and KLM have worked with FastTrack Company to develop and bring to market a solution that has the potential for you to never lose track of your bag.

Fast Track Company

The eTrack system lets airlines and passengers track their bags wherever the bag is around the world. The eTag is an electronic baggage tag that goes on the outside of your suitcase and has all personal information required to check a bag.

They’ve implemented the eTag and eTrack technology that allows a user to link their bag tag with their smart phone app and be able to track it anywhere in the world. Here’s a quick video of how the product works.

Bottom Line

Air France is planning to start trials later this year. This will be an interesting product to watch, especially how they roll it out. This could be a very nice perk for those premium business travelers or Flying Blue elite members.

I’ve lost a few bags in my traveling days and it isn’t fun. Hopefully innovative technology like the eTrack and eTag will help prevent more lost luggage.

  1. Whats the point of a traveler tracking a lost bag??? Airlines should come up with better ways of NOT LOSING it in the first place. Tracking a lost bag is still lost. Big whoop. Knowing where you lost bag is doesnt make ur lost bag magically appear in front of you.
