50,000 Points Posting From 150,000 Platinum American Express Offer

The targeted offer for 150,000 points here was an amazing offer I took advantage of earlier this year. But there are still targeted 150,000 bonus offers floating around out there, like the recent 150,000 Business Platinum American Express offer I received in July.

The offer provided 100,000 points after meeting an initial $10,000 in spending and those points posted promptly. Then the offer provides an additional 50,000 bonus points after meeting a second $10,000 in spending. Something I wasn’t sure I’d go for, but after hearing some feedback from readers, I decided to go for it.

After another few cycles, I was finally able to meet the second $10,000 spending requirement. As soon as I did the additional 50,000 points were deposited into my account. Seeing 5 figure balances hitting the account isn’t as good as seeing 6 figure balances hitting the account, but I”ll take it.

American Express Business Platinum 50k Bonus Points Posting

Of course you can always try to increase your chances of receiving these targeted offers (as I explain here), but when these offers come around, you really need to give them priority over other offers. For example, when the 100,000 American Airlines card offer came around, I jumped on it and received the 100,000 bonus miles. Then when it died and came back again I jumped on it again before it expired.

Now the big question is; would you try for a second new 150,000 bonus point offer after receiving the first?

Bottom Line

I really like racking up American Express points because of their flexibility in points. They can be really useful because they can transfer to partner travel programs with ease and get you enough points in a program of choice for that next award. Plus, it is a hedge against devaluations of one program or another.
