Expedia’ says they are running this promotion to  honor its new tablet app, but you don’t need a tablet to get the coupon code.  Simply fill in the number to your text enabled device, and you will immediately receive 2 texts: one with the booking link, and the other text is your $100 off booking coupon code. While the coupon code will work on for bookings on a  computer, note in the Terms and Conditions that it says you must use the mobile app on a tablet.

Bottom Line

If you were thinking about booking a hotel stay, it might be worth it to get the code and price the stay out on expedia.com.  Keep in mind that if you have status with the hotel chain your stay will not get credit towards elite status. You may or may not get your elite benefits, but your best bet would be to call the hotel directly with your loyalty number, add it to your reservation, and the inquire about the ‘on-property’ elite benefits upon check-in.
