The ‘new American Airlines’ is going to continue with Heritage Livery and add potentially 4 more to their heritage fleet between now and 2015. The fleet is rumored to include a bare polished metal American 737-800 along with 737-800s of  RenoAir, TWA, and AirCal.

Bottom Line:

As you would imagine, there are all kinds of reactions on Instagram from LOVE IT to HATE IT.  But one of the more astute comments is from kyle_8901 who said: “Could you guys have been any more lazy? You just removed the US Airways name and slapped a tiny American sticker on.”  That pretty much sums it up for me.  What do you think of this (and future) AA planes?

  1. Wouldn’t it be more accurate to say that they pulled the US Airways name and replaced it with American? This is how US has been doing “heritage” liveries for years.
