This past week I had my very first In-N-Out burger in an unusual place. The city of Las Vegas has more celebrity chef restaurants than just about any city, but that didn’t stop us from jumping in a cab for a mid-evening In-N-Out burger.
The In-N-Out burger restaurant is a very short taxi ride across the highway from the Mandalay Bay. We jumped in a taxi with Point Me To The Plane and Delta Points to grab some burgers.
When we arrived we saw another crew who had the same idea. It was no other than Randy Petersen with a band of bloggers and writers including View From The Wing, Pizza In Motion and Globe Trot Scott.
Anyway, I left the ordering up to Delta Points and Point Me To The Plane while I grabbed a table. This place was packed.
They picked up a round of burgers, fries and shakes. The hype I’ve heard about this place gave me high expectations for this burger. There are a few different ways to order your burger and I’ve heard Animal style is one of the best.
The onion was a bit intimidating but I went for it.
After the first bit I took off the onion and found It was a little better. The fries were unimpressive but the shakes were good.
Bottom Line
Overall I enjoyed my first In-N-Out burger, especially in Vegas where a burger by the pool can run an easy $20 bucks.

Not to nitpick too much, but it’s actually Point Me To The Plane, not a plane.
As any Las Vegas resident will tell ya, forget In-N-Out, that’s like the Coors fad of the 60s… you should have gone to Fatburger.
Night and day difference. Sorta like comparing McDonalds to Five Guys.

Fatburger has never been the same since Magic Johnson became part owner. Went way downhill in my opinion.
Double meat, protein style, raw onions, no spread mustard instead, with peppers. Spicy, no carbs, kosher, delicious.
I’m an In n Out fan, but if you haven’t yet been to Habit, give them a try. Obviously, if you don’t want onions, order without. Or whatever else you do or don’t want on it. I’m amazed you didn’t like the fries. Did you watch the guy feed the potatoes into the fresh fry cutter? Never frozen, totally fresh. I realize that when you get used to others it can be hard to go back to the real thing. Anyway, glad it was good. Personally, I think Five Guys and Smashburger are totally overrated and overpriced.

Out’d In n Out from my favies list few months back. kinda have to agree with the fad comment. If we are talking regular burgers and not gourmet sammichez. I’m headed to Nation’s Giant when i’m westcoasting. Love five guys on the east. All different but good burger vibes for me. When I’m home tho in the south Waffle House Burger and hashbrowns is a unique fav combo. WH for burgers who knew.
