Two planes were delayed on Wednesday night in Minneapolis-St. Paul after clipping wings on the taxi way. According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, a Delta mainline 757 with 171 passengers on-board going to LAX clipped wings with a Delta feeder plane operated by Compass Airlines with 74 passengers on-board headed to Louisville.

Screen Shot 2014-10-23 at 4.34.23 PMThe accident occurred around 8pm Wednesday night in MSP when, “planes collided as the Delta flight was taxiing for departure and the Compass flight was pushing back from the gate. The cause of the collision wasn’t immediately known, but the FAA is investigating,” said Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Tony Molinaro.

No one was injured in the incident airport spokesman Patrick Hogan said. The delays – reportedly around three hours – were long enough for Delta to throw a pizza party and for passengers to tweet about it.Screen Shot 2014-10-23 at 4.44.34 PMScreen Shot 2014-10-23 at 4.44.15 PMBottom Line:
It’s a good PR move on Delta’s part to keep passengers happy during a seemingly ‘self-inflicted’ delay. It’s amazing the good will from a couple hundred dollars worth of pizza.

  1. I’m sure there was some DYKIA/Diamond Medallion that was livid he didn’t get his own personal pizza.
