Sign up by October 15, 2014 and you’ll receive American Airlines AAdvantage Platinum status through January 31, 2015, complete with special upgrade privileges, 100% mileage bonus on eligible flights, free checked bags, priority check-in and more.
Want to keep this good thing going? Simply fly on American, US Airways or other select airlines to earn 9,000 AAdvantage elite–qualifying miles or points between October 27, 2014 and January 31, 2015. Your AAdvantage Platinum status will be extended through February 29, 2016, and you’ll also earn 20,000 HHonors Points that you can use at more than 4,000 hotels and resorts within the Hilton Portfolio.
Bottom Line
This is a pretty sweet deal if you are lucky enough to be targeted. American Airlines Platinum is their middle tier status which normally takes 50,000 flown miles to earn.

Ah well, worth a shot. Hilton Gold currently but from a Milepoint promotion.

I called Hilton and they registered me for the promotion Guess I will have to wait and see how American handles it Hilton did not have a problem with it and knew what I was talking about when i called them
So far I haven’t seen anyone who actually qualified for this promotion.
I confirmed with Hilton and they said i was registered for the promotion The first person I spoke with at Hilton did not know anything about it the second did and had a copy of the promotion that he reviewed with me. I also call AA Advantage customer service it took about 30 minutes but they did confirm that the promotion was real. They said the promotion is being handled by Hilton only and Hilton will send to AA a file to upgrade the my account. I will post when the upgrade is posted to my AA account.

I saw it on this website and it is real i have confirmed it with both Hilton and American You do have to call Hilton to register
I had commented on Oct 2 that i had registered with Hilton for the promotion and verified with AA that the promotion was real. I was finally upgraded to Platinum on November 24 and did receive the 100% bonus miles for each trip that i made during the Oct 2 to the November 24 time period. It did take several phone calls with both Hilton and AA but i did receive the platinum upgrade and will qualify for platinum status for 2015 if i fly the 9,000 elite miles required.
