Have You Earned Your 50,000 Hyatt Gold Passport Points Yet?

In August Hyatt sent out targeted e-mails to Gold Passport members offering up to 50,000 bonus points for stays up to 20 eligible nights from September 1st thru November 30th, 2014. At the time, I felt lucky to be targeted for the biggest package, and I was dreaming of all the Hyatt stays and bonus points I could rack up under the promotion.  So. How’s it working for me?
Screen Shot 2014-10-19 at 7.41.14 PMI’ve stayed at Hyatt four nights in the first 6 1/2 weeks of the promotion.  But what I did appreciate was the email reminder from Hyatt that I am only one night away from earning 5,000 bonus points.
I have travel plans in the next 5 1/2 weeks left in the promotion, but sadly they don’t include stays in Hyatt properties.  I briefly considered a ‘mattress run’ using Hyatt Cash + Points in a Category 1 hotel that would cost me $50 plus tax and 2,500 Hyatt Gold Passport points. In essence I would be spending $56 for 2,500 points … so no deal.
Can anyone think of a situation of where creating an extra Hyatt stay might be a good deal … or am I just relegated to no deal? And I don’t think I will be seeing my 50,000 Hyatt Gold Passport points anytime soon, as I am struggling for 5,000 points.
