The holidays can be messy. And hectic. And the last thing I want to do is lug around more bulky items than I have to. So just in time for the holidays Staples is offering up to 50 percent off ‘cleaning and breakroom essentials’ – including paper products.

There are several things I like about shopping at staples.com.  First, the Staples Rewards program is free to join, and members get free shipping on everything in addition to up to 5% back in rewards.  In order to get the full 5% back, you need to spend over $1,000 annually. I am only a base member that gets 2% back since I have spent less than $500 annually on qualifying products.

The next thing I like is using my Chase Ink Plus Business card to earn 5x the points by making purchases on the first $50,000 spent in combined purchases at office supply stores and on cellular phone, landline, internet and cable TV services. The combined $50,000 limit sounds like a lot of spend, but then again, I end up purchasing a lot of these at staples.com as well.

I also like Staples because they randomly e-mail you coupons good in-store or on-line. Sometimes they have a minimum purchase, other times it’s just a coupon with no restrictions.  I happened to have a $5 coupon sitting in my account, and I applied it to my purchase of paper products.  My awesome order, with free delivery, ended up looking like this:
