Delta’s First Class Lox Croissant Breakfast

It’s hard for me to turn down breakfast on the road. So when I get an interesting breakfast option while traveling, I usually just give it a try. First there was the excellent Delta First Class Omelette and then they enhanced breakfast options in the Sky Clubs like the Atlanta T SkyClub. And for road trips, my personal favorite is always when I find a good clean Waffle House to stop into. But on my last Delta flight there was an interesting option, Croissants.

The flight attendant gave this option a terrible sale job saying “there is this croissant thing with Sal-Mon and Eggie thing” which didn’t sound great. But I persisted, saying “wow, you really sold that, I’ll take it” and I’m glad I did.

The presentation of the meal was nice. There were in fact two separate croissants. One with cold egg salad and the other with cold Lox and onions. It also came with a side of fruit and yogurt. I added the diet coke to enhance the follow through with a crisp and cold sparkle drink.

The croissants were actually really really good. I took off the tops to get a closer look before digging in.

The Lox was topped with onions which I removed along with the top as the extra break really isn’t needed in my opinion. Although it’s helpful to eat like with your bare hands like a sandwich, which is what my seat mate did, even with the fruit.

The egg salad was even better than I thought. It was cold and just the right consistency. For bonus points, you can add the two together.

The fruit was fresh as ever and included strawberry, blueberry, kiwi and cantaloupe.

Bottom Line

The new (to me at least) Delta croissant breakfast option is a winner in my book. I’ll definitely take this over granola any day. But my preference is still for the First Class Omelette which is served with several different options.

  1. When I flew JFK-ATL back in September, they served that as well. Delicious! Definitely better than AA domestic first class meals..

  2. Waffle House rocks!! Wish they could whip up some scattered smothered and covered hash browns in flight!
