Hyatt announced that they will now offer free wi-fi to all guests globally regardless of how they booked their reservation. Starting February 2015, guests will be able to access free Wi-Fi on an unlimited number of mobile devices or laptops in Hyatt-branded hotel common areas and guest rooms. Looks like even if you booked your reservation through a discount site, you will still be able to take advantage of this offer stating early next year.

According to Hyatt’s press release, “Where available, Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond and Platinum tier members will receive a complimentary upgrade to premium Wi-Fi service.” Seems like they should consider another amenity for elite status guests other than premium Wi-Fi since they will be giving free Wi-Fi to all guests. Bottom Line

This is good news for Hyatt guests! Both Marriott and SPG have had similar announcements in the last couple months so, this is looking to be the norm from hotels going forward; at least I hope so! Hyatt’s announcement is more favorable however, offering free Wi-Fi to all guests, not just loyalty members and not excluding guests who didn’t book directly with the hotel.
