UPDATE: As of 2/1/17, 1 Starpoint per $2 spent on Uber and 2 Starpoints per dollar spent on Uber while you are staying at a Starwood hotel.

In more exciting news from Starwood, you can now earn 1 Starpoint for every U.S. dollar you spend with Uber® and earn even more Starpoints® during your stays with SPG®. When you are staying with Starwood, you will earn 2 points/$ if you are a Preferred member, 3 points/$ if you are Gold and a whopping 4 points/$ if you are Platinum. This is amazing news for me as I am a Platinum member with SPG.  I stay with Starwood a lot during my weekly travels and use Uber to get around when I’m on the road so, I plan to use this promotion right away!

*Once a member spends $10,000 U.S. dollars or its foreign equivalent on Uber rides in a calendar year they are no longer able to earn base or bonus Starpoints for Uber rides in that calendar year.

Bottom Line

This is an easy way from me to build more SPG points with Uber. I ride with Uber several times a week, so I will rack up the points with this deal! Hope you will too!

If you are new to Uber, you can still sign up and get $20 off your first ride when you sign up though this link.

If you are short on SPG elite status, consider the Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from Amex which gives 5 elite qualifying nights, and 2 stay credits just for having the card. The Platinum Card from American Express offers complimentary annual SPG Gold status just for having the card, so that is something else to consider.
