I’ll admit that I’m somewhat of a rental car snob. But, honestly who doesn’t like a brand new car? Now in real life, I drive a 3 year old car, but for some reason when I rent a car, I expect it to have around 200 miles on it. I long for that new car smell!

Hertz Has Good News For Rental Car Snobs

Check out this email that I received from Hertz announcing that they will be adding 350,000 new vehicles to their fleet over the 2015 model year. This is great news in my mind because there is nothing that I like more than a new car! I don’t know about you but, when I rent a car and it is old, stinky and has more then say 10,000 miles on it; I say no thanks! This news means that the next time we rent from Hertz, there is a much better chance that we will get a new ride! How awesome!

Exciting enhancements to the Hertz fleet

As part of our commitment to bring you the most satisfying rental experience, Hertz is adding an unprecedented number of new vehicles to our U.S. fleet. Over the course of the 2015 model year, Hertz plans to add 350,000 new vehicles. That means approximately 60% of the current vehicles will be getting a makeover with enhanced safety and style in virtually every car class.
We’re also making enhancements to our Green Traveler Collection and increasing the fuel efficiency of our vehicles throughout the fleet. As a result, over 80% of all Hertz vehicles will have a fuel-efficiency rating of 28 miles per gallon or higher on the highway. That’s good for the environment and good for your business! In addition, our high percentage of fuel-efficient cars should make Hertz your #1 choice for environmentally friendly vehicles in 2015.
Our dedication to sustainability goes well beyond increased fuel efficiency and electric cars. We’re developing green-certified buildings and have instituted green practices like recycling across all Hertz locations.
These enhancements to the Hertz fleet reflect our commitment to deliver a premium rental car experience. Whether you are traveling for business or pleasure, book today!

Bottom Line

How about you? Are you a rental car snob, preferring newer cars? Will you book more with Hertz going forward because they are adding so many new cars?

  1. Good! I generslly have had good cars from Hertz. have picked up a couple of lemons in last year. I should have realised when picking up a car from boston that if the windows are down to check why. Once on the road realised the car smelt like it had a body hidden some where. it was horrible. Had todrice around with the windows down in winter. got a rebate for that. another car from RDU shook when the brakes were applied in an unnerving way.

Oh, on the new car smell. That is toxic chemicals degassing from the plastic in the car. Smells good but not good for you. Sorry.
