Earlier today, Starwood announced a bunch of changes to the Starwood American Express card which will start August 11th.

How To Get Free Sheraton Club Lounge Access

The new benefits include:

· No Foreign Transaction Fees
· Complimentary, Unlimited Boingo Wi-Fi
· Complimentary Premium In-Room Internet Access

However when it comes to the Starwood American Express Business card, there’s an even better new benefit which is free club lounge access when staying with Sheraton hotels.

FREE ACCESS TO THE SHERATON CLUB LOUNGE

An exclusive on-property amenity. The Sheraton Club lounge offers something extra while traveling for your business. Catch up on work or gather with other guests in a space that provides a higher level of comfort. For locations and details see Sheraton Club lounge here. Booking requirements apply.

Terms and Conditions for this new benefit:

Available at select Sheraton Hotels® & Resorts for the duration of a Card Member’s stay. Visit www.sheratonclubroom.com/find for a full listing of Sheraton® Club properties. This benefit is for Basic Card Members only on Starpoint Eligible Rate reservations. Exclusions of Starpoint Eligible Rate reservations might include rooms booked through a group rate as part of an event and the SPG Member does not directly pay the SPG Participating Hotel for such room; tour operator; or online travel channel or third party channel, such as expedia.com, hotwire.com, priceline.com, orbitz.com, booking.com, Travelocity.com, ctrip.com, or elong.com. A full description of Starpoint Eligible Rates can be found at www.spg.com/terms. Sheraton Club lounge access is limited to the eligible Card Member and a guest staying in the same room for the duration of the stay, regardless of how many rooms have been reserved.

Bottom Line

The Starwood American Express card added a bunch of new perks, but the Starwood American Express Business card seems to be the better bet here with the free lounge access perk.

If you don’t have this card and still want lounge access for free, you’d have to be a SPG Platinum member which required 25 stays or 50 nights a year to earn the status.

Comments

  1. is it the same as lounge access in all spg hotels? or just lounge access at sheraton hotels? i dont have platinum status at spg so i dont quite understand the different.

  2. As there’s an annual fee that starts after the first year, shouldn’t this post actually be “How to get Free Sheraton Club Access for a year?”
