Bottom Line

I think it’s very interesting that Starwood has created a new tier within a brand already, since Sheraton Grand isn’t a new brand all together. Adding 50 hotels to this collection will be an aggressive task that I look forward to see which other properties will join this collection.

  1. This is a brilliant move by Starwood. Recognizing the best Sheratons as Grand puts pressure on Sheraton owners elsewhere to improve their facilities and service in order to qualify for the Grand moniker. Since Sheraton brand standards are all over the place across the world, and especially in the USA, having the Sheraton Grand moniker ensures that the best brand standard for Sheraton is achieved…and leaves other Sheratons to catch up.

  2. Edinburgh has ALWAYS been called Sheraton Grand! They may have felt they couldn’t change it – albeit there was a huge refurb a couple of years ago.

Good to see the dumps at Toronto and Frankfurt Airports I have used failed the cut!
