American Airlines has launched a new status challenge program, which includes all three tier levels including Gold, Platinum and Executive Platinum. This challenge can be most lucrative should you choose to go for their highest Executive Platinum tier, which only requires that you earn 25,000 EQP’s.

Bottom Line

There is no mention in the offer that it’s targeted and I was able to successfully register for the promotion, however there have been some talks that is may be targeted, so keep that in mind when trying to register.

Comments

  1. The terms state its only for recipients of the email. This program cost hundreds of dollars to join in the past so I can’t believe it is free for all now.

  2. I tired registering and it said I had reaching the time limit. Wasn’t sure what that was. I then tried to register a daughter I was going to take on a trip with me and she registered fine. It may have been I did a challenge three years ago.

  3. I registered and it said It’s all good, but in the My Account -> Progress I don’t see any change, Still requires 25K for Gold… do you see any change when you register successfully?

  4. This is targeted. If you didn’t receive the email – it won’t work – even if you complete the registration. Full stop.

Seriously, it’s like some of you bloggers have no experience with AA.

  5. I guess it’s about to wait and see if I get the email before Sep 14th…
    Nothing to lose other wise…

  6. This is BS.
They want to give people the same status for 25,000 miles that I get for 100,000? And they don’t have to pay anything? So the upgrade list looks like Deltas?
I wrote them a nasty note when I read this. Mr. Parker can suck it.

  7. received a less generous offer…30,000 for platinum status for flights only until Oct. 9th. The link above no longer exists. Hmm…

  8. Was not “targeted” for offer. However, I registered with link before deadline via link. Received offer as shown above on 15 September confirming enrollment. I have no current status. I was not required to pay any fees.
