Earlier this summer, we posted about an amazing deal- Mistake Rate: Grand Hyatt Santiago for $2 per Night, where American Express Platinum Cardholders were able to book rooms at the Grand Hyatt Santiago Chile at $1,600 CLP which is $2.42 USD per night.
We then announced that after speaking to Amex on the phone that they would honor it, but today Amex has officially sent out emails stating such. Below is a copy of the email:
About Your Upcoming Fine Hotels & Resorts Reservation
Recently you made an American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts reservation at the Grand Hyatt Santiago on amextravel.com. We are writing to inform you that a technical glitch on the website caused room rates for this property to display incorrectly. At American Express, we are committed to providing you with the best possible experience, and that means letting you know when an error occurs – and how we plan to resolve it.
Please be assured that we will honor the prices presented to you during the shopping and booking process online. You will be asked to pay that nightly rate – plus any applicable taxes, fees and other expenses incurred during your stay – upon checkout at the Grand Hyatt Santiago using a valid American Express Card.
As with all Fine Hotels & Resorts reservations, please be aware that these special rates and amenities are subject to the Program’s* terms and conditions:
- Payment must be made in full with an American Express® Card in the US Platinum Card Member’s or US Centurion® Member’s name
- The eligible Card Member must travel on the itinerary that was booked to be eligible for the benefits described
- A full list of Fine Hotels & Resorts terms and conditions can be found at americanexpress.com/fhr
We apologize for any confusion this may have caused. If you have any questions, you can call us anytime at 1-800-297-2977 and we’ll be happy to help.
Thank you for choosing American Express Travel.
