Ritz Carlton San Juan Review

It’s great to be back at the Ritz Carlton San Juan. I had the opportunity to go back to Puerto Rico and booked a regular rate under $200. I have been to this hotel a number of times but, this time it was a little different. This time, I had the Ritz Carlton credit card and wanted to use one of my suite upgrades from the credit card but, then I remembered that you have to have booked a rack rate to use the upgrade certs. Since the rack rate was much higher then my negotiated rate, I decided to take my chances with an upgrade at check in. Sure enough, I was upgraded to ocean front room!

The thing that I like best about this hotel is the small intimate casino and I also love BLT restaurant. I ordered a nice steak dinner with onion rings at BLT Steak and then hit up the casino. I had the early flight out the next morning, so I called it an early night and took a taxi (super close) to the airport the next morning.

Upgraded room with nice furnishings

The living area was extended in this room making it much bigger then the normal rooms and it had a great view.

Bottom Line

The Ritz Carlton San Juan is a winner in my book. I pretty much book it whenever I go to Puerto Rico. I like the classic feel of the hotel and the restaurants and casino are fantastic. This was another good trip!

  1. Timing for this write up could not be better for me. I was under the same dilemma. Use the CC rates or cheaper rate. I am curious to know how you were able to get the pricing below $200.
