One of the great benefits of the SkyMiles program, is that they offer Rollover elite qualifying miles. Any miles earned over the required Medallion level threshold rollover to the following year. For new Medallions be sure to check out How To Qualify for Delta Medallion Status in 2016.

However, this process isn’t instant and usually takes a few weeks. I do have good news, as Diamond Medallions have begun reporting on Flyertalk that their Medallion Qualifying Miles have been rolled over for 2016.

If your Medallion Qualifying Miles haven’t rolled over yet, keep an eye out as they should in the coming week. Delta starts with Diamond Medallions, then Platinum Medallions, followed by Gold and Silver Medallions.

Delta has acknowledged the following: Rollover MQM balances will be reflected in SkyMiles accounts in mid to late January.

  1. I spoke to a phone agent last week regarding a ticketing issue. I happened to price I had 0 mqm in my account but has about 20k that should have rolled over.
I had enough mqm for gold but not enough mqd leaving me with silver status for 2016 but about 20k in rollover mqm.
The agent said that mqm and mqd both reset and do not rollover anymore.
Was I misinformed based on post above?
Can I expect to receive my rollover mqm? If so, when?

  2. @Jack – I think you were misinformed. Your miles should rollover.

    Per Delta site —

Rollover benefit means Medallion Qualification Miles earned in 2015 above a member’s earned Medallion threshold level will roll over to 2016 and count toward 2017 Medallion status qualification. Members who receive complimentary or gifted Medallion status are ineligible for rollover MQMs unless they earn more MQMs and Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs – U.S.-based members only) than the gifted status requirement. For example, if a member is gifted Silver Medallion status in 2015 and also earns 30,000 MQMs and $3,000 MQDs in 2015, s/he will be able to roll over 5,000 MQMs since the Silver Medallion requirement is 25,000 MQMs and $3,000 MQDs.
Rollover MQMs will post to your SkyMiles account by the end of January each year.
