This morning there are reports that an Egypt Air flight was hijacked and diverted. The initial reports indicated there were 80-81 people onboard, but subsequent reports indicate there are 55 passengers with 7 crew.
Egypt Air flight 181 is operated by an Airbus A320 and was scheduled to depart Alexandria at 6:20. The flight time of 30 minutes would have put the arrival around 7:20 am into Cairo. However the plane was apparently diverted to Larnaca Cypress.
Some reports indicate at least one hijacker to be armed with a bomb. This story is still developing…
