Last month, we announced wrote how Delta Partners With North End Grill To Offer New Dishes on flights from New York (JFK) to Los Angeles and San Francisco, so I was excited to take part in these new dishes on a recent flight to San Francisco.

As a Platinum Medallion, I still had some regional upgrades left to use this year, so I decided to redeem one for this 6 hour flight, which cleared shortly after booking.

Settling into Delta’s business class on the 767-300, which offers direct aisle access for every seat in a 1x2x1 configuration.

At my seat was Westin Heavenly bedding, pillows, noise canceling headset, bottled water and I choose a welcome drink of sparkling wine.

Once we reached 10,000 feet, flight attendants were offering roasted marcona almonds with espelette and choice of drinks.

I decided to go for the Signature cocktail on this flight which was a whiskey and coke in order to celebrate the 150th birthday of an American legend with this specialty fall cocktail, as Delta described.

The appetizer featured shrimp and egg mayonnaise with chives and tarragon. The salad was a mixture of farm lettuces, valbreso feta, scallion and champagne vinaigrette served with ciabatta bread.

For dinner I opted for the short rib cannelloni which had featured port, black truffle, wild mushrooms, and parmesan.

Other entrees included the Pink Sea Trout or the Potato and English Pea Croquette

For dessert there was a sundae bar with vanilla bean ice cream and choice of sauces including milk chocolate, fennel and raspberry with toppings of chestnut praline crunch and whipped cream.

Bottom Line

I was pleased with the new offerings from North End Grill, and would recommend the short rib. Delta will be rotating through different entrees each month, but you can view the North End Grill menu which is found on Westbound transcon flights from New York (JFK). Eastbound flights feature their regular dining selections.
