Here is a very interesting offer that I was targeted for from AirBnb. If you don’t already know, I really like using AirBnb for some of our family vacations when we require a larger space then a hotel can provide. Check your email to see if you were also targeted for this offer where when you give an Airbnb gift card to your friends, you earn 20% back in travel credit for yourself, up to $50! This is a no brainer if you have some reservations to book. Consider sending your gift card to your significant other or travel partner to earn the 20% back in travel credit for up to $50 bonus for yourself! This promotion is valid through 11/1/2016 (11:59:59 PM EST).

Comments

  1. I was targeted for this offer and tried to send the gift card to myself using the email registered for my Airbnb account but Aribnb denied that option. So, I wonder if this will work if I send the gift card to another email address I have that is not registered with Airbnb. Then I could receive a $250 gift card and the $50 bonus and not have to worry about sending one of my friends the $250 gift card. Any thoughts on this option?

  2. I bought a $250 gift card and sent it to one of my non-airbnb email addresses. When I tried to redeem the gift card, it states that the purchaser cannot also redeem the gift card. Since they are held to California gift card laws, how are they able to limit gift card redemptions to a specific person? I now have a $250 gift card that I cannot use. I can send it to my travel partner as we have a big trip coming up but then I cannot use my excellent profile and reviews for booking the trip. My partner would be starting a profile from scratch and we may not be accepted at the places that we want to stay. Their terms and conditions state absolutely nothing about this restriction. I’ll be calling them here in a bit to demand they credit my account or refund the gift card (it automatically gets refunded if not claimed in 90 days, but I don’t want to wait that long. Because the $250 was covered by my Sapphire Reserve travel credit. In 90 days, the refund will go through and I will have lost out on using that travel credit for 2016.)
