We’ve written several times about Delta One Business Class between New York (JFK)- LAX/SFO, however with the new addition to Delta Launches Main Cabin Meals on Transcon FlightsI decided that Comfort Plus would be my cabin of choice on my recent flight from New York (JFK to Los Angeles.

Delta One Transcontinental Business Class Reviews:

Delta flies a combination of both 757-200ERs and 767-300ER aircraft between New York (JFK) and Los Angeles and San Francisco. When it comes to Comfort Plus seating, Diamond and Platinum Medallion members are eligible to select seats at time of booking, whereas Gold and Silver Medallions get complimentary access starting a few days before the flight. If not available, then you can be added to the airport standby list.

Delta Comfort Plus

Delta Comfort Plus seats offer additional leg room and recline making this a great option for transcontinental flights. When it comes to the new meal service passengers both in the Main Cabin and Comfort Plus receive their choice of a complimentary meal.

Main Cabin Meals

There were a few options including a turkey sandwich, a veggie wrap, or a fruit and cheese plate.

Main Cabin Meals

I opted for the turkey sandwich, which is served with a bag of chips and a chocolate chunk brownie, all very tasty.

Main Cabin Meals

As I was seated in Comfort Plus, an hour prior to landing, the flight attendants offered frozen mint chocolate chip bars and bottled water.

Martini Review Woodford

Of course Comfort Plus on Delta also offers complimentary drinks, so I ordered a double Woodford on the rocks.

Overall I was very impressed with the new meal offerings, and other airlines are taking note, as American Airlines just announced they would be following Delta and offering a very similar meal selection in their Main Cabin on transcon flights.

If you’ve flown Delta on a transcontinental flight in the Main Cabin or Comfort Plus recently, feel free to comment below about the new meal offerings!

  1. I flew in the bulkhead in Comfort+ JFK to LAX on a 767. I boarded with Platinum’s but at JFK everyone has Delta status so I was 40th ot 50th to board. Needless to say there was no overhead space anywhere near the Comfort + section (despite “dedicated overhead space” for Comfort+) Fine. Bulkheads seats don’t have any floor space. So I out my stuff under the first row of Business class but the FA said it could not go there for safety reasons. OK, no problem. Then she put here stuff there because “FA’s don’t have any place for their stuff.” I’m so over Delta. They are better than AA but not much. Doesn’t t justify the higher $$$.
