Did you know that if you have the Delta Reserve Credit Card from American Express and spend within certain thresholds per year, you can get a big boost towards your Delta Medallion Qualifying Miles? This can really help you earn Delta status much faster which is one reason I carry the card! I have had this card for a couple years now and try to hit these thresholds every year. In fact, I just hit my second threshold and received an email from American Express letting me know that I’ve earned an additional 15,000 MQMs and 15,000 bonus miles for spending $60k on the card within the calendar year. It’s a great day! See here How To Claim 15,000 Delta Medallion Qualifying Miles for more info on how easy it is to actually claim your miles. Expired

Bottom Line

All told, a member could theoretically earn 30,000 MQMs from the Delta Reserve Credit Card from American Express (consumer) and then also earn another 30,000 MQMs from the Delta Reserve for Business card (Option to view the business cards is on the right hand side) for a total of 60,000 MQMs each year (not including the signup MQM bonus members will receive for each card). That requires a lot of spending on the cards, but it will earn someone Delta Gold status from their couch without stepping foot in a Delta plane which is pretty amazing.

  1. This is quite old news. And if you look at the texts you have quoted you will notice that MQM stands for Medallion Qualification Mile and not Medallion Qualifying Mile.
