Hot Dogs Now In Delta Sky Clubs?!?!

On a recent trip out of New York LaGuardia, I decided to stop in the Delta Sky Club at Terminal C at LGA. While the club was packed, I did find one “enhancement”. This club was serving Nathan’s hot dogs for lunch. There was an attendant serving these with all the trimmings for guests in the club.

Delta has been upgrading their Sky Club offerings recently, however I was surprised by this option. On one hand, it’s a new addition, however it also seemed kind of gimmicky as if you were at a carnival.

I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on this and whether you’ve seen these Delta hot dogs in other Sky Clubs.

How To Get Access to Delta Sky Clubs:

There are many credit cards which provide access to the Delta SkyClubs including this one at LAX. As reminder both the American Express Platinum Card as well as the Business Platinum Card from American Express provide complimentary Sky Club access.

Have you been to the Delta Sky Club at Terminal C at LaGuardia that serves hot dogs? Feel free to share your thoughts below!

  1. I’d kill to have hot dogs in Sky Clubs. I maintain a pretty good diet on a day-to-day, but when I travel I give myself permission to have more fun with food. And Mr. American [sic.] isn’t fat enough… the solution isn’t to remove all the fattening options…what the hell.

  2. I absolutely hate to say it, but I’d take the chicken salad over a Nathan’s Hot Dog. Now if they started serving Hebrew National or Bean’s “Red Snapper” Franks I’d be much more inclined to eat them. Well, if they served Bean’s there’s no doubt in my mind that I’d be eating all I could.

It amazes me how much we complain about the food offerings in airport lounges the way we do. I guess we’ve come to expect more from airlines but it wasn’t all that long ago that we were thrilled if a Crown Room had chips, humus, and olives or a World Club had chip, salsa, and carrot stix. The old World Clubs had self-serve bars in them and we accepted that. The last Sky Club I was in with a self-serve bar was at PHL and I was not in the least pleased.

So maybe I should be more appreciative of the chicken salad. After all, its much more than we got 10 years ago.
