It appears that Bacara Santa Barbara will soon become a Ritz-Carlton as the hotel is currently going through some ownership changes and with the new buyer comes a new management contract for the resort. Currently Bacara Santa Barbara is part of the Meritage Collection.

For those not familiar with Bacara, it’s located just north of Santa Barbara and features 358  guest rooms and suites and is adjacent the Sandpiper Golf Club.

Once complete, the new name will be The Bacara Ritz-Carlton, Santa Barbara. While nothing official yet, I did reach out the hotel who confirmed the ownership changes and that Ritz-Carlton will be taking over. They’re wasting no time as on the Ritz-Carlton job site they’re already hiring for several positions at their latest resort.
