Southwest Airlines is really trying hard to compete in California for business. We’ve seen this by the airline offering an A List Status Challenge for California Residents last month.

Frequent Miler reports, the airline has sent out emails to California Residents with an offer to earn a Southwest Airlines Companion Pass just by signing up for a new Rapid Rewards Credit Card account and making a purchase. Be sure to check your email to see if you’ve received this offer as it’s valid till 11/30/17.

Here’s how the Southwest Companion Pass Works:

Companion Pass is the benefit that lets you choose one person to fly free with you every time you purchase or redeem points for a flight. To qualify, simply fly 100 qualifying one-way flights or earn 110,000 qualifying points in a calendar year, and you’ll earn Companion Pass for the following full calendar year, plus the remainder of the year in which you earned it.
