Last week I wrote How to Score Southwest Airlines Companion Pass for Free. Southwest Airlines is really trying hard to compete in California for business. We’ve seen this by the airline offering an A List Status Challenge for California Residents last month.

New Public Offer For Southwest Companion Pass For Free (California)

With the last posted offer, the airline had sent out emails to California Residents with an offer to earn a Southwest Airlines Companion Pass just by signing up for a new Rapid Rewards Credit Card account and making a purchase.

Here’s how: Open a new Rapid Rewards® Credit Cardaccount, make a purchase, and get Companion Pass.

With this offer, you will receive the Southwest Companion Pass through December 31, 2018.

Now the offer appears to be public and open to all California residents, here.

Companion Pass

Companion Pass is the benefit that lets you choose one person to fly free with you every time you purchase or redeem points for a flight. To qualify, simply fly 100 qualifying one-way flights or earn 110,000 qualifying points in a calendar year, and you’ll earn Companion Pass for the following full calendar year, plus the remainder of the year in which you earned it.

Bottom Line

You would not eligible for this card offer if you currently have the card or have received a sign up bonus in the past 24 months. If you didn’t receive the email last week, you can now grab it!

“This product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Rapid Rewards Credit Card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Rapid Rewards Credit Card who received a new cardmember bonus for a Rapid Rewards Credit Card within the last 24 months.â€
