Edition Hotels, Marriott’s lifestyle brand, is expanding as the brand will be opening seven new properties in 2018. When it comes to their current portfolio, they currently have locations in London, New York, and Miami Beach.

Per Edition,

2018 is expected to see EDITION firmly positioned as the travel industry’s first truly global luxury lifestyle hotel brand. With each hotel distinctive in its own right, EDITION will continue to break new ground and take the hospitality industry into bold, uncharted areas. Its timeless design, uncompromising quality, true originality and impeccable modern service, has defined the boutique hotel category.

Here’s a peek at two of the seven new Editions opening in 2018. You can view the full list here.

Times Square EDITION, to be located at 701 Seventh Avenue on the corner of 47th Street, features 457 guest rooms with four levels of public space including a 5,000 sq. ft. performance venue, a 1,900 sq. ft. meeting studio, state-of-the-art fitness center and a lobby lounge at check in level. The hotel also boasts distinctive food and beverage outlets including a signature restaurant leading out onto a 5,800 sq. ft. beer garden and event deck overlooking Times Square, and an all-day dining venue also featuring terraces with views of Times Square.

West Hollywood EDITION, to be located at 9040 West Sunset Boulevard on the east corner of West Sunset Blvd. and North Doheny Drive, features 190 guest rooms, 20 luxury residences and over 5,200 sq. ft. of meeting space.  Food and beverage outlets include a signature restaurant, a lobby lounge, rooftop venue and a nightclub/bar.  Also available will be a rooftop pool /pool deck and a 4-treatment room spa.

Additionally, they plan to open another nine hotels by 2020, which would bring the number of Edition hotels worldwide to 20.

  1. Just stayed last month at the London Edition. It was basically a W with Marriott trappings. Same ambience. Same energy. Same minimalist design aesthetic, even if it looks a little distinct from that of W. Even the pretty and younger staff was reminiscent of W.

It will be interested to see how the Edition hotels differentiate themselves from W, since both now are in the Marriott portfolio. There already are 57 W hotels worldwide, with another 23 in the pipeline to open by 2020, so I’d say that W is the largest luxury lifestyle hotel chain.

  2. I stayed at the very first Edition Istanbul when it first opened. It was beautiful. The room was large, modern, sophisticated and pure luxury from top to bottom but, not in a stuffy way.

One of the best stays I’ve ever had.
