Effective immediately Gansevoort Park Avenue is no longer part of the Gansevoort Hotel Group and will be rebranded as Royalton Park Avenue.

It’s unclear what prompted the sudden change in management companies, however with the Mondrian Park Avenue recently opening and the rebranding of The James New York-NoMad, both of these properties certainly couldn’t have been good for the Gansevoort.

Gansevoort still has their flagship Gansevoort Meatpacking‎ property as well as hotels both in Turks and Caicos and the Dominican Republic.

Effective December 14, 2017, Gansevoort Park Avenue is no longer associated with Gansevoort Hotel Group or part of its real estate portfolio. Gansevoort’s efforts will now be focused on the evolution of its flagship property Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC. We will continue to serve our valued guests as we have since our doors opened in 2004; when one door closes another one opens, and we are excited for you to share in our new chapter.

While we’ve said goodbye to NoMad, we’re not saying goodbye to NYC. We’ll have new and exciting adventures awaiting you at our Meatpacking location and will start our transition in the New Year. Whether you’re a new or loyal guest of the Gansevoort Hotel brand, find your way to our rooftop and experience breathtaking views of the Hudson River + iconic landmarks and explore hot spots in the neighborhood like the High Line, Whitney Museum, Chelsea Market, and West Village. We look forward to sharing and creating new memories with you.

Royalton is part of Highgate Hotels, which manages several other hotels in the city including the original Royalton, Knickerbocker, WestHouse, Park Central, and The Lexington.

  1. Gansevoort sold Park Avenue in October for nearly $200 Million, and I saw change on the rooftop on Halloween when rooftop had a new name. But I didn’t know what was up at the time. My only heartburn about this is what will become of the rooftop nightclub at park avenue, and with Halloween? Plus, where do I go on the Saturday before Halloween now?????
