Ritz Carlton currently has two properties in New York City, The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park, and The Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park, however their Battery Park location is getting deflagged, and will be called the Wagner Hotel effective March 29, 2018.
Update: Please note – Ritz-Carlton will not operate or be affiliated with The Ritz-Carlton Battery Park effective 29Mar18. Gift cards will not be accepted and Rewards will not be earned as of 29Mar18.:
The Tribeca Citizen reports, the former Ritz-Carlton Battery Park at 2 West St. is going to be called The Wagner Place Hotel, operated by Highgate Hotels.
In fact, Highgate Hotels is hiring for a Director of Sales & Marketing (Wagner Hotel – NYC) and claims “Highgate Hotels in transitioning the Ritz Carlton Battery Park to Wagner Hotel.”
I called the hotel to find out about this, and was rudely told that the property has no comment or any additional information to share at this time, but based on what we’ve seen it pretty clear by summer this will no longer be a Ritz.
You’ll call Highgate Hotels recently took over the Gansevoort Park Aveneue hotel overnight, so it seems like that may be the case here once this transition happens.
Be sure to get your reward bookings in soon if you’re hoping to stay here before the property is deflated and leaves Ritz-Carlton.
