TSA Detains US Senator

The TSA has been reported to have detained US senator Rand Paul from Kentucky, the son of the current presidential candidate Ron Paul.

Rand Paul was detained after refusing a full body pat down at the Nashville airport. The scanner found an anomaly and the TSA said they required him to submit to a pat down. He has been notoriously against the pat downs.

I guess the extra pat down is better than missing a gun in the screening process.

I wonder if this will have broader implications.

  1. CNN Quoted “A TSA official said Paul was “not detained at any point” and left the checkpoint willingly. The official was not authorized to speak for attribution.”

  2. Without jumping into a political mess, all I have to say is I love Rand Paul (and his dad). 🙂
