I got the email for AA. It worked for me. I have cut back my Hilton stays this year and they must want me back. 50K points will get me to stay 4 times in the next couple of months. And an extension of Gold to 2014 is a definite bonus.
Note that the United, US air offers are different – 6K miles + no bonus points for UA, 25k for US.

Diamond desk says that its for new members only…to get them started. Deb at the diamond desk said they have been getting a lot of calls on it.

I received the targeted promotion from AA/Hilton. When I tried to input my AA Advantage number it gave an invalid code. So I called and after a long wait I was advised that indeed it was a targeted promotion but only for new HH customers and not for exisiting ones.
@Fernando did they define new HH customers? Signed up in the last month, 6 months, year?

I spoke to HHonors and they said this promor was for Blue or Silver members or brand new members only.
I was able to get this last year about this time. Great promo
I called them up and was given some hybrid where I received the Gold renewal and 2500 points……A little confusing, but we’ll see what happens.
I called and was told that they could apply the promo for me tommorrow. The CSR explained that she had just received a memo about the promo and an it glitch that was preventing them from loading the promo for existing HH members. She mentioned specific language in the T&C’s which leads me to believe that she might not be pulling my leg.
If the T&C’s state to call for existing members, then it shouldn’t be an issue like Scott said. I’ll call on Monday after they work out the “glitches.”
well no dice for me. They have distributed a memo instructing CSR’s to only apply the promo if you have the target code in the email. Otherwise they are offering to apply a promo to award 2500 points on your next stay between now and Dec 26 2012. I had them go ahead and add that since free points are free points. You guys might try calling in to get the alternative offer if you were not targeted.
I am confused, I did receive an email,thus targetted, but when I called on tuesday they said only for new HH. am I to understand that if I call now, they will sign me up? Just tried doing it on line and its a no go
