When Is This Offer Not Good

Saving $3.95 is great, but leaving 1.4% on the table to save such a small amount is not great.

The Big Crumbs website offers 1.4% cash back on gift card purchases. So if you are making a gift card purchase over $300, consider making the purchase through Big Crumbs instead, as the 1.4% cash back will exceed the $3.95 savings.

If you are making a smaller everyday purchase of $25 or $50, consider using the Father’s Day promotion code above to save the $3.95 fee.

  1. Got the same email from Amex. However, I just signed up for bigcrumbs through your referral link, which I think is the better option. Two amateur-ish questions for you:
    1) do you know if buying these gift cards using an Amex card counts towards an Amex threshold spend?
    2) do you know if buying these gift cards counts as cash advance if purchased with citi/mastercards?

I think it’s yes for #1 and no for #2 (though I think I’ve seen threads with conflicting reports), but I’d love to hear your (or other’s) experience through bigcrumbs.

  2. “When Is This Offer Not Good”? I’d say it’s not good for anyone with Ink and an Office Depot nearby.
