Last month Southwest rolled out a double bonus on all San Juan and Memphis flights. Today they are upping the bonus to triple points on Southwest flights to San Juan.
NEW! Triple points on your San Juan flights!
Beginning October 10, 2013, the double points promotion below will be expanded to triple points on every flight booked through Southwest Airlines® for travel into or out of San Juan through December 12, 2013!
Members who have already registered for the double points offer below will be automatically registered for the new promotion. If you have not yet registered for this promotion, please register below.
My immediate question was whether one needs to rebook a flight to qualify for the triple points promotion and it appears that is the case though the terms don’t give a perfectly clear answer.
Member’s San Juan flight must be completed between October 10, 2013 and December 12, 2013 to qualify for the San Juan Triple Points promotion. Travel booked and completed between September 12, 2013 and October 9, 2013 will be awarded bonus points in accordance to the original San Juan Double Points promotion.
Puerto Rico is a great destination especially from the east coast.. I have stayed at the W Vieques and The St. Regis Bahia Beach which are both fantastic properties. The Weekly Flyer did a full review of the St. Regis here. The W is the more ‘fun’ property while the St. Regis is a bit higher in service quality and is more traditional.
