Last week, I wrote about how Delta was offering a double MQM promotion on flights to/from LaGuardia as well as 2,000 bonus MQM’s and RDM’s on the first flight in addition.

The promo stated, As thanks for flying Delta, you’ll earn an additional 2,000 bonus milesand 2,000 Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) when you book and fly your next Delta or Delta Connection marketed and operated round-trip flight by July 10th to and from anywhere. After that, keep enjoying accelerated earning each time you fly a Delta or Delta Connection marketed and operated segment to or from LaGuardia (LGA) through July 10th for double miles and double MQMs.

When this promotion was announced last week, it seems that all SkyMiles members were able to register even though it was meant for a targeted group.

I just got off the phone with the SkyMiles support desk who told me that since I was able to register they will be honoring this and that I can go ahead and book some flights from LGA.

Leverage Delta's Double MQM Promotion

The longest nonstop flight Delta offers from LGA is to Denver so naturally that’s the first place I looked. I was able to find a same day turn for $238 all in.

With the double MQM’s as well as the 2,000 bonus MQM’s for your first roundtrip, I would earn 6,258 + 2,000 for a total of 8,258 MQM’s for $238 for a cost of 2.8 cents per MQM which I think is a great deal.

Will anyone else be mileage running out of LGA?

  1. Question: As I understand it, you need to do another Round Trip FIRST (and earn 2,000 MQM’s) THEN do the LGA-DEN for double MQM’s….did anyone else read it that way?

  2. @Anthony, nope it’s Double MQM’s plus 2,000 MQM’s on your first roundtrip flight from LGA.

  3. Sorry, that’s NOT how I understand it and Delta Points blogger agrees with it. T&C say different…how are you reading them? thanks

  4. Nor is it accurate to say all skymiles members were able to register for it…. not that anyone’s bitter…

  5. @ Eric I signed both my wife and I up for it. Both said accepted but neither show up on DL’s website under promotions accepted? So I think DL went through and dropped a lot of them.

  6. I wasn’t able to register last week, either (was not eligible). Frustrating being a PM living in NY and missing a great offer like this one.

  7. Why would anyone trust the crap that Delta Points blogs spews. He is full of nonsense. When you comment on his blog and show he is incorrect he blocks you from commenting.

Remember this is the blogger who believes delta upgrades have a factor that includes checkin time when we all know that is not the case. Yet he claims “people In the know” have told him otherwise.

  8. @Rodeo-not speaking to Delta Points Blog, but I know that I am correct in reading the T&C on this promo…

  9. @anthony
Why would you trust anything he says or blogs. He doesn’t get it. He is not a trustworthy source.

  10. I registered for this promotion and got the message saying “you are now registered”. However, I just went to my promotions page on the delta web site and I do not see this listed.

  11. @Rodeo – my info on upgrades was confirmed by my CORP contract, twice, from Delta. Do you work for Delta and can provide ANY kind printed proof the info is wrong? Delta has stated directly to me the info is correct. But I guess better to trust some fake name on a blog spewing hate.
