It was an awesome late summer day weather wise in New York City … perefect for Thursday afternoon happy hour!
We left the busiest Starbucks in America (1585 Broadway in the heart of Times Square) and figured out we were just a couple blocks off the Southwest Airlines Porch in Bryant Park.
It’s been open since 2009 and the goal of the al fresco lounge was to raise awareness of Southwest’s then new service at LaGuardia. The corner of the park has been renovated into an inviting collection of porch swings, rocking chairs and Adirondak chairs with a bar and grill in the center.
The grill was cooking up tasty looking burgers. Oh, and did I mention they serve cocktails? Yummy seasonal cocktails. We sampled the White Sangria and the Bourbon Lemonade.
Cocktails in the Southwest Airlines Porch was the perfect relaxing end to an otherwise hectic day.  It’s open during the summer from Monday to Friday – 11:30am – Midnight and Saturday & Sunday – 11:30am – 10:00pm.
Hey…how much were they charging for the HH cocktails? Bourbon Lemonade…..YUM!
$11.02 each, plus tax put them around $12. It seems ridiculous for a party cup, but they were tasty, and this is Manhattan pricing.
