The Living Social/ShopRunner offer also reminds you that “Eligible American Express card members can enroll in a complimentary ShopRunner.com membership. Be sure to check online before purchasing your voucher.”  You can enroll your American Express card here. The fine print says, “An “eligible Card” means an American Express U.S. Consumer or Small Business credit or charge Card that is not cancelled and that is issued to you by a U.S. banking subsidiary of American Express. Prepaid cards and products, American Express Corporate Cards and American Express-branded cards or account numbers issued by other financial institutions are not eligible”

Bottom Line:

I am a ShopRunner member thru American Express.  I still use Amazon Prime more often than ShopRunner, but it is a nice back-up benefit to have. You can stack your savings further if you are an American Express cardholder and have statement credits such as the $15 off of a $75 purchase at ToysRUs.com, and you enroll that same credit card as the default purchase credit card on your ShopRunner account.
